Foundations of Education

The Foundations of Education Department offers the following program leading to licensure as an Instructional Technology Specialist (903). 

1. All of the following courses are required:

EDMT 380 (F, Sp, Su): Educational Media 2 crs. 

EDMT 382/582 (Sp): Producing Instructional Media 3 crs. 

EDMT 608 (On demand): Computer Mediated Communication and Information Retrieval in Educational Settings 3 crs. 

EDMT 670 (On demand): Computers in Education: Instructional Applications 3 crs. 

EDMT 760 (Sp): Advanced Production of Instructional Media 3 crs. 

LMED 770 (F every 3 yrs): Administration of District Media Programs 3 crs. 

EDAD 753: Supervision of Instruction 3 crs. 

2. One of the following courses is required:

C I 730 (F, S): Curriculum in Grades 1-9 3 crs. 

C I 738 (F): Techniques of Curriculum Construction 3 crs. 

3. Select 12 credits from the following electives:

EDMT 650 (On demand): Computers in Libraries and Media Centers 1-3 crs. 

EDMT 674 (On demand): Computers in Education: Instructional Design and Development 3 crs. 

LMED 730 (Su): Trends and Issues in Literature: K-12 3 crs. 

F ED 740 (F, Su): Introduction to Educational Research 3 crs. 

CI 788 (F, Su): Seminar in Professional Education 3 crs.

F ED 796 (F, Sp, Su): Directed Studies 1-3 crs. 

Eligibility for 902 licensure is a requirement for completing the 903 licensure program at UW-Eau Claire.
